What’s in my bag?

What's in my bag?
I am always fascinated by what women carry around with them in their handbags. I always seem to end up carrying around so many things that are unnecessary, and regularly have to have a clear out and ditch the things I do not need. This becomes really annoying after a while, especially when I have several bags that I often switch between. I have made a conscious decision to clear my handbag out each night and to ditch anything that I do not need, and I thought I would share the contents of my bag with you.
1) Phone Charger
I would be so lost without this little beauty. I have an iPhone 4s and whilst I love it, and my contract is so much cheaper than if I had a more recent model, the battery life is not so great. It is fine if I am at work, as I can charge my phone there, but if I am out and about and using my phone more frequently then I can run out of power by lunchtime. Having this nifty little gadget with me means that I am never out of power and I can tweet to my heart’s content.
I have almost every lip balm that Carmex makes. I have been using this brand since 2010 and I can always count on it to soothe and restore my lips if they are dry, and I use it regularly to keep my lips healthy and smooth. There are a huge range of products and flavours, so there will be something to suit everyone. My favourites are the original and  cherry lip balm pots.
3) iPhone
I would be lost without my phone now. There are so many things I use it for, from keeping in touch with loved ones, sending emails, taking photos and getting directions. I love the variety of cases available as well, like the tortoise shell patterned one shown above.
4) Keys
Pretty boring but necessary. I have two sets of keys with me usually, one set for work and one for home. I like to make them more interesting through keyrings. Whether they are photos of friends and family, or designer pieces, they add more personality and usually help my to find my keys as I feel the keyring before they keys.
5) Perfume – Freak by Illamasqua
Since discovering this scent in 2013, it has become my signature scent. I have three bottles and always have one with me. One is on my desk at work, one in my bedroom and one for my handbag. I love that the fragrance is long lasting and strong without being overpowering. The Illamasqua website lists the notes as follows:
TOP NOTES
Black Davana, Opium Flower and Belladonna bewitch the senses into uncontrollable lust and passion.
HEART NOTES
Poison Hemlock, Datura and Queen of the Night blossom, caress and kiss.
BASE NOTES
Aromas of Frankincense, Oud and Myrrh, addictively mesmerises and captures the senses.
6) Notepad
Whether it be for work or leisure, I always have a notepad in my handbag. I always carry a small notepad with me for jotting down blog ideas and anything else that I need to remember, and I would be lost without my work notepad. As a lover of lists, a notepad is a necessity.
7) Purse
This purse is perfect for me. It showcases my love of travel, written letters and keeps all of my money, loyalty cards and receipts perfectly organised. The design I have, Paper Planes is available online, as well as at various stores including Thunder Egg.
8) Mints
With my love of garlic and other strong flavours, I always make sure to carry some mints with me. My preference is for spearmint rather than peppermint, and the cuter the tin the better.
9) Hair Clip
I love wearing my hair down, and more often than not that is how I wear it, but sometimes you need to be able to quickly keep it out of your face and out of the way. As my hair is so thick and long, I make sure that I always have a sturdy hair clip in my bag so that I can quickly sweep it into a ponytail and then clip it up.

Inner City Joules – Polyvore Outfit of the Week

Inner City Joules
I have been a fan of Joules for several years now, and I clearly remember falling in love with their classy, feminine designs that never seem to go out of style. This brand is perfect for anyone that wants to invest in a few pieces of classy clothing that will last for years without breaking the bank.
This year Joules are celebrating 25 years of business, and they have grown from strength. Their clothes are often seen on stars such as Mary Berry and Great British Bake Off 2013 Winner Frances Quinn regularly wore the brand on the show as she is a babywear designer for them. They clearly like cake!
The idea for this outfit came whilst I was out shopping (as they often do) and the weather changed about four times in less than two hours. In Manchester, an umbrella and jacket are a must. It really does rain as often as people say. I love the fitted style of the jacket, and it would be perfect with a huge range of outfits. I can just picture myself going shopping in this outfit, and stopping for coffee in a cafe whilst I jot down all of my ideas for the blog in the lovely notebook.
Joues currently have a sale on, and the bracelet and purse are currently on sale. Both can be found here along with so many other items to tempt you.
Are you a fan of Joules? Let me know!

Talk Disney to Me – Polyvore Outfit of the Week

Talk Disney to Me
Hi, my name is Sarah and I love Disney. There, I have admitted it. For those that know me, my love of Disney is no secret. As I have grown up, my love for Disney has not diminished, it has simply evolved. I love watching classic Disney films and seeing them in a whole new light, spotting things I had missed as a child and appreciating the films in a whole new way.
One of my favourite things to do then is to obviously visit Disney World. I have been there twice, once as a child and once just before I turned 21. Each trip was magical (as I am sure every trip would be) but for its own reasons. Disney parks are like Disney films, with new things to appreciate each time, and for a trip to Disney, you need a special outfit.
This week’s Outfit of the Week is a tribute to my love of all things Disney, and I would be more than happy wearing this whilst exploring Epcot or whilst hanging out with friends at the weekend. I am completely in love with the bag and the necklace, and need to have more Disney in my wardrobe.

Things My Skin Loves

Things my skin loves

I seem to have the most challenging skin type ever! My skin, if left to it’s own devices, is dry and dull. To make it worse, my skin is also really sensitive. I have spent many years searching for the perfect products for me, and I am finally really happy with the items I am using.

Angles on Bare Skin – £6.40 from Lush is the most amazing facial cleanser, and at only £6.40 for 100g is super affordable. This was recommended to me by one of that staff whilst I was looking for the holy grail of skincare, and they were so right! It contains kaolin to absorb grease and dirt, leaving skin clean and nourished, but is super gentle. The lavender, which I will admit I was a little worried about at first (it’s not my favourite scent) works with the ground almonds in the cleanser to gently exfoliate your skin, leaving it looking brighter, whilst the almond milk leaves your skin feeling more toned and baby soft. This is a solid cleanser, and you simply break a little of, mix it with water to form a paste, and then begin rub it into your face. The results are amazing.

Hand Food – £5 by Soap and Glory was a surprise discovery a few months ago. I love Soap and Glory products, but because of my sensitive skin I am always really wary of trying new products. My mum had actually bought me some little treats to put in my Christmas stocking, and this was one of them. It is now a firm favourite. It moisturises my hands without leaving them greasy, and without my sensitive skin reacting badly. A little goes a long way with this one, so although it is a little more expensive than some others, it is worth it.

Butter Yourself Body Cream – £10.50 again this one is also from Soap and Glory. I decided to give this a go when a friend said that it was one of the best body creams she had ever used. This looks expensive, but for 300 ml of really good, high quality body cream it is excellent value for money. I love using this straight after having a shower, and it smells divine!

Balmi Lip Balm – £4.99 by Balmi is a fairly new brand over here. It was the unusual shape of the container that first caught my eye, and as it was on a 3 for 2 offer I decided to give it a try. I picked the raspberry one, and it constantly being used. As with most women, I seem to have a million lip balms, and I leave them everywhere. I keep this one in my bag, and then not only do I know that I always have one with me, but the sturdy case keeps me reassured that the top is not going to come off and stain everything. The balm itself is clear, but has a lovely flavor and keeps my lips soft for hours.

Total Moisture Facial Cream – £28.50 from Benefit is a real game changer for me. I often find that I either have a reaction to a face cream straight away, or after using for a while, suddenly something changes and I have to go on the hunt for another. I have been using this for about a year now, and it always feel lovely to put this on. Whilst the pot is not the easiest for application, it does mean that you can use every last drop. My skin feels so much better now that I have discovered this, and the scent is lovely and clean.

Moisture Prep Toning Lotion – £23.50 by Benefit is one of my best skincare discoveries. It makes sure that there is no make up or dirt left on my face, and really helps to hydrate and sooth my skin. As with all of Benefit’s skincare range, a little goes a long way, and your skin will thank you for it.

Triple Performing Facial Emulsion – £21.50 by Benefit is a new discovery for me. About three months ago whilst stocking up on all kinds of lovely things. I now use this on top of the Facial Cream every morning, and there is a noticeable difference. I love that just as with the Facial Cream, it does not leave my skin oily or shinny.

Tory Burch Gifts

The holiday season is well and truly on us now, and many of us are trying to find the perfect gifts for our nearest and dearest. I much prefer to give people one or two well thought out presents rather than a ton of generic, thoughtless ones. One of my go to places for friends is Tory Burch.

Each season Tory Burch releases some stunning pieces, and I love gifting them to my friends almost as much as I love buying them for myself. Everyone seems to be creating their holiday gift list for close friends and relatives right the way through to third cousins twice removed and their pets. This list though, is a round up of a few of my gifting favorites for the special women in your life.
